Spinning a tall story.
Wednesday, February 27th, 2008It’s hard to walk along the shoreline of Marina Bay in Singapore these days. Most of the waterfront is undergoing some form of redevelopment. There’s the Sands casino, a double helix pedestrian bridge, various office and residential towers and the now obligatory Giant Observation Wheel (and don’t you go calling it a Ferris Wheel..).
The Singapore Flyer opens in March and will it seems, be the biggest of its kind in the world.
The base building was designed by Kisho Kurokawa with local architects DP. The engineering is by Brendon McNiven at Arup, who also worked on the London Eye.
